Farglory Group Conducts Self-Inventory on Headquarters Carbon Emissions in Accordance with ISO 14064 Standards

With the frequent occurrence of extreme climate events around the world, carbon emissions—a major factor affecting the global climate—have become a target of public criticism. Prior to implementing carbon reduction through decarbonization and carbon sequestration, an important first step is to conduct a “carbon inventory”, which helps us understand the status quo of emissions and allows for the further setting of a baseline for carbon reduction.

Anchoring inventory among the trends

“As the trend grows, the need to discern what we really need becomes more important.” Farglory Group is a business management unit and not a high-carbon emission factory or construction site, nor is it a major company controlled by the authorities. Therefore, Farglory is determined to proactively respond to carbon inventory; this way, we are not just responding to the trend passively, but taking a proactive approach for declaration. We expect to be a role model for our business sectors, and we are preparing ourselves for a clearer commitment to sustainability in internationally recognized scientific language.

Inventory can’t change the world, but it gives us an overview of carbon emission

“Carbon inventory is not the end, but the beginning.” Farglory Group has been reminding ourselves of this since the release of the data; therefore, we want to start by communicating across departments internally. By analyzing and interpreting the figures, we hope our colleagues realize that in the past, the environmental costs of human activities had long been unconsciously overlooked by the society. Now, thanks to the advancement of technology and tools, we are able to clearly see the byproducts of human–environmental interactions for the first time and analyze the possible impacts.

In the future, the question of how to respond to the international goal of Net Zero Emissions by 2050 is a challenge that all enterprises will need to face. In this regard, Farglory Group will continuously move forward with the right beliefs.
