Our History
Timeline
For many years, Farglory has been synonymous with building towns that change lives and redefine eras. Throughout this process, we have constantly reinvented ourselves as well.The history of Farglory also represents the history of the city’s progress. Since the initial stage of our existence, we have been contemplating and continually searching for the essential plans to address the most challenging issues of community building, help people live healthier lives, and create a more livable environment.

- The Group’s official website was newly revamped and transformed into an online platform for communication on ESG values.
- The Group published the first “Sustainability Highlights Report”, which consolidated the key sustainability performance of each business sector and improved transparency and disclosure of corporate information.
- The Group released NEX Special Issue Vol.1 “Change” and Vol.2 “Legacy” to reshape corporate culture, giving colleagues clear insight into the Group’s core values in the midst of change.
- During the Group’s seminars on “Change” and “Legacy”, Mr. Wen-Chia Chao, Vice Chairman of the Group, was invited to have a face-to-face conversation with all employees, thereby breaking through workplace hierarchy and building a corporate culture of equal communication.
- Farglory Land expanded the scope of its GHG emission inventory to include its construction sites in order to improve carbon inventory, strengthening the Group’s ability to adapt to and mitigate climate change.
Farglory inaugurated the second phase of the Free Trade Zone to increase the volume of foreign trade and fulfill the logistics demands of Taiwan’s airports.
Farglory Ocean Park was transformed into an “edutainment park” with “Co-Sharing Joy, Co-Education, and Coexistence” as its main themes; it focuses on the co-survival of human beings and the ocean and on creating connections, circulation, and balance with nature.
Taipei Dome was licensed as the first indoor baseball stadium in Taiwan that meets international standards, thereby contributing to the development of domestic sporting events.

- Tung-Yuan Construction was honored with the Gold Award in the “Building and Construction Category” of the 1111 Job Bank Happy Enterprise Award.
- Farglory Life Insurance won the “Corporate Sustainability Reporting Award” and “Social Empowerment Award” in the AREA (Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards), the “TWSIA (Taiwan Sustainable Investment Award)”, Top 7 in the “Environmentally Friendly Category” of the Global Views Monthly CSR & ESG Corporate Social Responsibility Award, and the Silver Award for “SDG15: Land and Water Ecosystems Category” in the TSAA (Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards).
- Farglory Ocean Park was awarded the “Badge of Accredited Healthy Workplace”.
- OLAH Poshtel was honored in the MUSE Hotel Awards and named “Taiwan’s Leading Boutique Hotel” in the World Travel Awards.

- The Group presented our sustainability vision and development blueprint for " NEX Community".
- Farglory Land published its first Sustainability Report.
- Farglory Land introduced ISO 14064-1: 2018 GHG emissions inventory, passed SGS verification and established its carbon reduction base year.
- Renovation of Farglory Hotel Hualien was completed, with $400 million spent to create a brand-new hotel stay experience where nature meets leisure.
- Farglory Foundation launched the “Campus Architectural Education Program Camp” to introduce architectural education for students in remote schools.

2021
- Farglory enterprise was renamed “Farglory Group” and given the new brand proposition of “Dream Bigger. Do Together” and the new brand identity of “The Passage of Dreams”.
- For the first time, Farglory Foundation cooperated with the 2021 Golden Pin Design Award to jointly host the annual Farglory Award, which encouraged designers to come up with innovative solutions for our current living environment problems and urged the public to pay attention to sustainability.

- Farglory Land’s new workplace area made of recycled materials from construction sites won the 14th Taiwan Interior Design Award and was shortlisted for the longlisted project in the UK Dezeen Awards 2021.
- Farglory Life Insurance’s “Take a Breather: Respite Service for Family Caregivers” won the Gold Award in the TSAA (Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards).
- Farglory’s “Never-ending Remote Areas Care Program” won the Bronze Award in the TSAA (Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards) and the Silver Award in the “Corporate Sustainability Report Award” of the TCSA (Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award).
- Farglory Ocean Park was awarded the “Badge of Accredited Healthy Workplace” as well as the “Golden Diamond Award” in the Smoke-free Workplace Competition.

- Farglory Foundation organized the Farglory Group Blood Donation Campaign for its fifth consecutive year, as well as the “Fly High!” joint exhibition with teachers and students from all public schools in Xizhi District.

- Farglory Foundation called for volunteers to work together with the Shou-Shan Volunteer Group to repair houses and classrooms of underprivileged families in Beipu, Hsinchu; Shalu, Taichung; Sihu, Yunlin; and Sihchun, Pingtung. The Foundation also organized the Farglory Friendship & Charity Day, sponsored public welfare education on rare diseases, and more.
- Farglory Ocean Park cooperated with the Kaohsiung City Government in planning and organizing the “Marine Education Series Events - 2019 Kaohsiung Children and Youth Summer Program”.

- Farglory Foundation carried out campaigns and activities such as the “Seeds of Love Music Project & Achievement Presentation”, the repair to the buildings of the Naro Tribe and Heping Elementary School, and a year-end Christmas shoe drive for children from underprivileged families and remote areas.

- Farglory Foundation launched the “Repairing of Buildings in Remote Areas” campaign to devote ourselves to social welfare by utilizing our strengths of architectural construction.
- Farglory Foundation sponsored the Nantou Qin’ai Elementary School’s “Music Classroom Project” and “Seeds of Love Concert”, donated “Take Me Out to the Baseball Game” picture books to 31 elementary school libraries in remote areas, and organized corporate blood drive activities.
