Building a Workplace with Peace of Mind: Tong Yuan Construction, Redefining the Construction Industry

We need to stop attributing the construction industry’s labor shortages to young people’s “inability to withstand hard work”. Tong Yuan Construction (below, “Tong Yuan”), a member of the Farglory Group, has long been working to carry out comprehensive occupational safety and protection for our employees. Since Tong Yuan long ago recognized the importance of matching construction industry work environments with current workers’ needs, we have continued to be committed to building a workplace with peace of mind. After Tong Yuan was recognized with a Happy Enterprise Gold Award by 1111 Job Bank in 2023, Tong Yuan followed this in 2024 by winning second place in the Reliable Workplace Awards given by Taipei City Government’s Department of Labor! 

Management with Kindness: Respecting Employees’ Personal Life Needs

To help employees achieve work-life balance, in addition to the standard annual paid leave, family care leave, etc., Tong Yuan also provides birthday leave and a NT$5,000 travel allowance every year, which exceed legal requirements. Flexible Working Hours is also a kind management approach that allows Tong Yuan to maintain corporate discipline while also caring for employees. Through this system, the traditional mindset that requires employees to “sacrifice” for employers has been completely changed. We treat employees as partners, and respect their personal and family needs. Through regular benefit-sharing activities and visits to outsourced staff on festivals, we have created workplaces full of happiness and wonder. 

Diversity & Inclusion – Equal Enjoyment of Physical & Mental Health Services

To create a workplace with peace of mind, Tong Yuan has appointed medical personnel who provide onsite physical and mental health consultations that protect employees’ health and safety. We also organize interviews that strictly protect employees’ privacy, to encourage employees to communicate their physical and mental health problems in a timely manner. This way, early treatment can be provided with the assistance from medical personnel and the Company. To care for female employees, who make up a relatively small proportion of our workforce, Tong Yuan has completed maternal health risk audits, and postnatal assessments for employees who need them. Moreover, for migrant workers who are relatively disadvantaged, we provide educational training and work environments in their native languages. Interpreters are also arranged to accompany foreign workers at health consultations, ensuring that migrant workers can enjoy equal safety and rights.
