A Career May End, but Life Goes On – Farglory Group’s “Infinite” Talent Cultivation Philosophy

Everyone is in a different stage of life, with different personalities and other characteristic. But we all hope to have the competency required for our job, and to be satisfied with our production and progress in the workplace. Therefore, as shown through the design of the Farglory Group’s logo, the Company defines itself as employees’ Path to their Dreams. We provide employees with rich learning resources and help develop their aptitudes.
Satisfying the Desire for “Growth and Activity” at Farglory
Many companies regard education and training as an annoyance that is a distraction from working time. But in recent years, Farglory Group has instead continually increased employees’ learning hours. We do this through online learning platforms, lectures/forums, consensus camps for supervisors and employees, at least two to four reading club activities every year, and movie appreciation sessions. These efforts encourage employees to take time out from their busy work schedules to look around, see what is happening in the world, and take in new ways of thinking. Even just the smile on a fellow employee’s face in a training session is an important value that we appreciate at Farglory. At Farglory, hard work is never dull, dry, and devoid of interest; instead, it’s like being a sponge, eager to absorb new knowledge and flex when needed.Creating an Inspiring Workplace through Reading and Thinking
Study groups are a new activity implemented at Farglory Group in the past two years. Through study groups, employees can develop expression and presentation skills when introducing books to their fellow employees, and group discussions can activate interdepartmental interaction. We also hope that the readings will enhance employees’ workplace soft skills and meet personal career development needs. Books introduced in 2023 study groups included Atomic Habits, which promotes changes in life; Think Again and The Infinite Game[1], which encourage flipping old ways of thinking on their heads; and Counselling for Toads: A Psychological Adventure, which helps soften workplace atmosphere, and encourages readers to listen to their inner voices through their tears. Four books — The Joy of Working, Questioning Skills, Triggers: Creating Behavior that Lasts and Training the Mind — will be introduced in 2024, to continue helping study group members become outstanding leadership talents. This year’s two movie appreciation sessions included the film Hidden Figures, which explores how black women engineers fought for equality at NASA. The other film was The Intern, which probes issues of race, gender, and age discrimination in the workplace through the story of a senior man returning to the workplace and as a junior-level employee. We chose these themes to extend the spirit of the Workplace Gender Certification and the Middle-aged and Elderly Employee-Friendly Enterprise Certification obtained by the Headquarters. Farglory has also taken systematic measures to cultivate employees’ knowledge and skills related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), to help create a friendly and progressive work environment.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said, “Don’t be a know-it-all. Be a learn-it-all.” This also captures the philosophy that underlies Farglory Group’s toward employee cultivation. “A career may end, but life goes on. Based on the framing of an ‘Infinite Game’[1], we need to help initiate aspirations and approaches for learning in all current or would-be employees of Farglory, so they can move toward a richer and more complete journey in the future.”Note 1: The Infinite Game was one of Farglory Group’s reading club selections for 2023. It reframes the business arena and even life itself as actually an infinite game, where players must exit when they run out of resources or lose motivation, but the game still continues. Therefore, what we are pursuing is not winning, but how to continue playing!
